Elizabeth holds a dual Masters in Sustainable Design Science and Building Services from the University of Sydney Australia. She has a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Thames Valley University UK. She is a green building AP for Green Star (Australia & South Africa) and USGBC LEED-Building Design and Construction.She has a successful track record being in senior management and lead consultant capacity on a number of major projects including Airports notably Terminal 5 Heathrow UK, Brisbane Airport Cooperation Convention Centre in Australia, Residential, Retail & Commercial Developments in Australian & Oman. The wealth of sustainable engineering expertise is drawn from the Middle East, UK, USA, Australia, Nigeria and East Africa.Through her collaborative leadership of KGBS, Elizabeth has led the transformation of the built environment in Kenya by embedding sustainability into the industry and extending it to green schools thus mitigating greenhouse gas emission, human health enhancement and boldly stimulating the green jobs agenda.
John is a Building Surveyor and Sustainability Consultant at BESIC Group. John Graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management (1st Class) from Mangalore University. He also has a Diploma in Property Inspection from InterNACHI School, Diploma in Sustainable Development, training in Sustainability from BATH University and is an Accredited LEED Green Associate. John has a combined 14 years’ experience in land management, property condition management, building surveying & conducting technical due diligence and, building sustainability & strategic sustainability consulting throughout East Africa. John has worked with property owners, developers, corporations, associations and, cultural institutions around East Africa offering advisory on property condition management, urban renewal, green building and strategic sustainability planning and implementation for businesses. Through his advisory John has optimized net worth of his clients’ property portfolio by protecting the integrity of their property condition and integration of sustainability into real estate and business to future proof against disruptive trends. As well as his work for BESIC Group, He is also a member and advocacy head committee for green building for the Kenya Green Building Society-KGBS, a member of International Association of Certified Home inspectors (InterNACHI), The International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) and an APC Candidate (Building Surveyors Chapter) in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
Amrish is a professionally qualified environmental and sustainability consultant and the Founding Director of Urban Green Consultants (UGC). He has project experience in green building certifications, building simulation modeling, energy auditing, environmental impact assessments, environmental and development approvals, contaminated site assessments and environmental monitoring for a diverse range of projects. Amrish holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Monash University, Australia and a Masters in Sustainable Development from the University of Queensland, Australia. He became an accredited LEEDTM Green Associate in 2012 and a Green StarTM Accredited Professional in 2014. Amrish was part of the team that successfully achieved the first LEED Certified Building in Kenya
Boniface is the Managing Director at WEB LIMITED the leading Sustainable Construction Consultancy firm in the region, Director at Direct Facilities Management a property and facilities management company and Energy Simulation Africa which specializes in Buildings Simulation and Energy Modelling. Boniface has a vast experience in Green Buildings and is currently overseeing Green Building Certification of various projects in Kenya and the larger East African region under WEB Limited. Boniface is a qualified LEED Green Associate with the United States Green Building Council and currently finalizing his course as a Green Star-SA Accredited Professional (New Buildings & Existing Buildings) He is the goodwill ambassador for the US Center for Green Schools in East Africa and has been organizing and running the Green Apple Day of Service in Kenya for the last 4 years. Boniface (Bonéye as famously known in the musical circles) wears many hats and doubles up as a member of the award winning musical outfit P-UNIT KENYA. Together they have won accolades, numerous awards, nominations and recognition in East Africa, Africa and beyond. Boniface is also an accomplished actor and has graced several TV shows both locally and international and has a background in TV and Film Production. He has been and continues to be instrumental in engaging stakeholders, youth, young academics and the general public on the importance of Green Buildings. Having been actively in the entertainment scene for years, he has built a wealth of networks, skill and dynamic analysis. Boniface is the Head of the Kenya Green Building Society’s Marketing Committee.
Atiya Tul Wadud (BA, Design (Hons). As the Strategy Partner for the ventures, and with her experience in Web Strategy, Atiya completes the offline-online loop in ATOM’s integrated service provision for the venture brands. She has over 10 years experience in Strategy, Graphic Design and Web Strategy. She previously was founder and managing director of ANTZ, a web consultancy that was later acquired by ATOM. Before then she worked with Monier and 3 Mice as head of Graphic and Web Design respectively.
